Hey Pat how you doing, thanks for doing this.

I'm doing great Mike and thanks for asking.

Tell me about yourself, bit of background, where your from, your family.

My name is Patricia, but everybody calls me Pat. I love music.  As a kid I used to sit in the bathtub and sing the Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder songs.

What's it like at the moment post Katrina - is everything coming together - Darry's from New Orleans isn't he - you most be deeply effected by the disaster ……and the politics that followed!

Yes it was.  But Thank God ever body is OK

How did you two get together, over 10 years ago now.  What band were you working with at the time

A band by the name of The Heavy Storm Band.  We didn't know each other at the time but we were both working with the same band just different nights so they wanted to put the two of together to see who they would keep and who they would let go.  The chemistry we had was so strong they had to keep us both.

And shortly after 2GAI was formed, so you had the whole concept thought out from an early stage?

Yes we did.

And how has it built from those early days to what it is now.

A lot of patience and understanding.  We started with a two piece set and we built into a force to be reckoned with. At least I think.

And what kind of things have you done along the way.

We traveled a lot and meant a lot of beautiful people.

Tell me about the first release in 1998 More Loving - how did that do.

You know Mike, 'More Loving' isn't actually our first release.  We started with this song called 'Room 21' which we released on cassette only in 1994 and the second release was 'This Love is Real' but of course we were still in a learning stage so I don't think the quality of the mastering isn't all that great.  But, the songs themself are beautiful the have the same power and effect if not more than 'More Loving'.  But, 'More Loving' was a great success it opened the market too us on a broader aspect.

This built into an Ep and now the album

Yes

Tell me about the album, hows it going down

The album is still going well we are very proud of it, though we are working on our new CD we will alway be proud of our very full length CD.

I think it's quite strong, what are the challenges and difficulties as an independent

Money

Together as one is a great track, and as you know Sweet thing has gotten attention in the UK, what kind of feedback have you got from outside the US

Oh the best, it is a true saying that a profit is not honored in his own hometown so we went across the pond and found ya'll.  Not saying that we not loved down here in the states, because we do have wonderful fans here and we love them all.  We could never forget where we came from and how we started.

The vocals and the chemistry between you is the strong point on the album, and you embrace a wide variety of styles, slow and emotional, old skool, bit of rock and some church - who are you're influences and what do you draw from

We have a lot of great influences, like of course Chaka Khan, Ramsey Lewis, David Ruffin, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Barkays, EWF, Rance Allen, The Hawkins, The Winans the list just goes on and on.

One More records - is that you, do you have any other projects

Yes 'One Mo` Records LLC is ours we also have a publishing company which is very important in the music business.

Pat, tell me about how music played a part in your formative years, and what other things you did in the early days.

My mother was a Gospel Singer and I always admired her singing.  I used watch her get ready and daydream about how I would be when I grew up.  I wrote my first song in the sixth grade for my graduating class back in the....aahhaa.  I knew my calling a long time ago.

And what has Darryl done

Oh he's absolutely amazing the things he has done.  He's performed at the Seanger Theatre in New Orleans he's perform or opened shows for people like the Winans, Andre Hawkins and countless others.

Do you do many gigs, whats your show like.

Yes we do.  Well all I can say is when we walk off the stage, they always ask for one mo, which is how we got our name for our record label 'One Mo` Records'

How do you see yourself fitting into the current marketplace

We are not where we would like to be but, we're not giving up.  It is so many Indie Artist out today which makes better for us.  What the big labels wont or dont do we are able to do it ourselves it just takes a little more time.

You happy with the way things are working out.

Not quite, there is always more room for improvement.

What is your following like locally.

Our following is great we have the best fans.  We have people who cook for us, pass out flyers and whatever else they can do.  We are all on a first name bases we have everybody phone number and everybody have ours.  Our following age range from 11yrs old to 84 which is our oldest fan.

What are your ambitions

I would like to first complete about 5 more albums a couple of personal albums of my own.  I would like to write songs for others and well as get in the movie business I have this great movie in my head it's been there for about 6 years I can't even tell you what it's all about, but it isn't about my life story.  We both want to produce more and I want to open a chain of resturants in about 5 years, because I love to eat and so does everybody else of course I will have live entertainment.

What other things do you like to do

writing songs, fishing, dancing and working out.

Darryl composing music, building water falls yes building water falls, water gardens and working with hungry (for music).

Anything else you'd like to say

We'd like to say thank you for this interview and don't hesitate to call on us for anything.
