Hey Colleen, thanks for doing this. How are you

I'm pretty good. It a new year to focus on new things.

Tell me about Maximum Pleasure, the concept, what you hoped to achieve and

what you feel about the end product.

Maximun Pleasure is a project that was born out of frustration of dealing

with band members and various producers. I got tired of waiting  for

producers to find time to work with me, and i was in a band situation that

ended pretty badly. So i was at a crossroad. At that point i took some time

off and chilled for year. While clearing my head i started to explore the

production side of things and i enjoyed it. I then built a tiny project

studio where if would write scratch idea's and from there i would go intto a

real studio and blow up the song.  I worked with 3 really great producers

Anthony Robustelli, Peter Williamson and Aaron Jaffe.

It's funny when i was recording i just wanted to achieve writing good songs

and to make sure the  production was good. I prayed that the end result

would make me happy and I am.

How long has it been available and how is it available - from your site?

I've seen it at Dusty Groove. Anywhere in the UK stocking it?

It been available there for about a year. No one in the UK is stocking it. I

would love to meet some contacts though.

You wrote most of the songs.  What do you draw from and who are you're

influences.

I draw from life experiences, my friends lives or their drama's. I love

Sade, Beady Belle, George Michaels, Seal, and D'Influence to name a few.

What reactions are you getting.

The reactions have been very positive.

What tracks are getting attention.

On XM radio station The Flow they played lonely Hearts on Mega Soul in

Charleston SC they played It's only luv on Kris Verex Subgroundfm in Germany

they Played Comospolitian Queen and here in the states "Innocent" is

licenses to Shadow Music's Instinct record compilation New Used and Absurd

and finally on beyondjazz.net they played All Eyes on me. It's funny i guess

because it is so diverse everyone has their personal preference.

It's pretty diverse aside from Soul there's a bit of Reggae, Drum and Bass,

Jazz

Yes i know i'm influence by all those things. Bob Marley, LTJ, Bukem, Anita

Baker i could go on i listen to everything i'm a sponge. So when it comes

time to create i guess some of that comes back out.

Does that kind of fusion work in the US?  The Soul heads over here probably

wouldn't go for some of that but it's quite refreshing.

Not really but i am going to try. The US never went for a lot of things but

eventually some will and do get through.

My favourites I think are Lonely Hearts and Maximum Pleasure.

All Eye on me is mine. It's fun to perform.

Innocent was picked up on a compilation, did that help.

Somewhat but since i do my own marketing and press I can't really tell. I

just keep it going every little bit helps.

You cut it in your own studio I hear?

No not in my own studio i worked out of a studio called Shady Bear (Anthony

Robustelli and it was mastered at B&T Recording with Bill Harris and Aaron

Jaffe did all the production on Innocent he has his own studio as well.

Tell me about the crew you used on the album, do you have a regular team.

Not really i got lucky with Anthony, Peter and Aaron and i love working with

them but i don't really have a team team in place just yet. I would love to

get one. For right now i am a lone solja until i get a budget or signed

until them i keep trying to get my work out anyway i can.

Do you use the same people live, whats your show like.

I used Anthony and Peter for a few of my live shows and it is turned out

awesome.People bug me constanly for more shows but getting a band is hard

but i'm working on it.

Do you do much live work –

Not much these days - back in the day i use to for other

people. But now i just focus more on my personal things to do.

Do you have a good fan base locally?

yeah some what. I'm building it and i'm sure a bunch of people would love to

come out and support but like i said it's crazyy i'm doing everything alone

so it's taking some time i'm working on making it happen.

What are you doing now, still promoing this one or working on the next

phase?  You got plenty more in the can? What's happening and when can we

expect something.

I'm working on the second record. You can expect it by September, October

god willing. I'm putting it own on my own so we'll see.

Do you know anything about the Uk, you getting any feedback from the UK or

Elsewhere

Chris Well in the UK wrote about me in Echo's and Just got a write up in

Germany on Soul http://www.soulsite.de/sonic/review-sonic.shtml?id=151

What have you done anything prior to this, tell me about JeNeCeQua and Raja

Turnstyle..college bands? What were they like, did you get anything down?

Those were just the starting bands on the way to the bigger picture. I never

really got anything done with them.

Tell me about yourself, what do you like to do, your family.  You're

originally from Jamaica..hence the reggae vibe I guess?  What took you to

New York?

I'm pretty laid back. I love create music and hang with my friends. I can be

a bit of a party animal at times.

What took us to the US.  My mom wanting a better life for herself and us. I

have one sibling my sister Hayley.

Are you full time in music. If so what other stuff do you do to make ends

meet.  You've done quite a few dance tracks.  Which ones stand out.  Do you

like doing that kind of thing.

I work for a law firm by day and i freelance doing music jingles, dance

track you name it. One of my favorite dance tracks was a song i did years

ago. I did background and ad libs on a song called love is the message with

this guy named storm for Easy Street records year ago. LOL i feel old

seriously though i guess Maximum pleasure is the one that stands out for

now.

What are your ambitions, whats the master plan

I want to run my own label eventually and work with other artist and maybe

so some scoring producing television shows that is the long term goal i have

so much more to learn before i get to that level but it is my ambition.

Short term goal is to try to get distribution or someone  interested in this

record to make it go furhter.

How's Lasonya (Gunther). It was probably 3 years ago now that we met. Have

you worked together? What's she up to, haven't heard from her for a while.

I'm not sure what she is up to but i sure it will be good.
