Desmond Dekker: This Is Desmond Dekkar (TJCCD327)

I remember this being one fo my first albums back in the day (where do those old records go!) and I loved it then, its great to hear it now and I love it still. Not only the propular and well known tracks but things like Sabotage, Hey Grandma and It Pays. This gem is enhanced by19 additional tracks from the same rocksteady era.

Again aside from the obvious tracks worth returning to are Keep a Cool Head. Mother long Tongue, young generation

Ok he may have made it popular but to this day he is still one of the best live acts I have ever seen and he will be sadly missed.

Desmond Dekker: This Is Desmond Dekkar (TJCCD327)

Format: CD album

Originally released by Trojan in the wake of his 1969 international chart-topper hit, Israelites, This Is Desmond Dekker drew together the best of his work from the preceding two years. The LP quickly became a best seller, even making the UK album charts - the first Jamaican music collection ever to do so. Now enhanced with an incredible 19 tracks from the same era, it has been transformed into the first definitive single CD compilation of Desmond Dekker's Rocksteady recordings.
