ISRAEL VIBRATION: Cool and Calm - Anthology (RZACD026)

Wonderful stuff, and none more so than the distinctive lazy roots rhthm of the early The Same Song through to the later sound of Reggae on the River, which still retains an earlier feel in harmonies and a Spear like quality.

The harmonies are simple yet they have something compelling.  This set picks out the best of their career which has had its ups and down but at each return they still conjure something magical, like for example the skankin Rudebiy Shufflin.

By and large it is solid roots and conscious material from the mjestic Don’t want no apartheid, the Marleyesque  highway Robbery and the steppin get up and go, great feel to Cool and Calm, spiritual Father of the Universe.

Top stuff indeed
