Tell me about the album, how
long it took to do from conception
to street.
The Title of the Album is: The Pain, The
Love, The Spirit. The Album is about The Joy & Pain of love, and having the
Spirit to endure & overcome the obstacles in life by way of love which
result in knowing who you are in it. It has taken 8 years to do this.
You pleased with it, what are your standout tracks? You a perfectionist?
For this to be my 1st Album I'm
pleased with it. The stand out tracks are: I'm not to Blame, Let Love Flow,
Trying To Let Go, REAL M.A.L.E.,
All The Man I Need,Oh What A
Blessing, Last But Not Least The Hot Rose Royce Remake Love Don't Live Here
Anymore. 7 out of 10 isn't bad.
Yes, I'm a perfectionist.
How difficult
is it to do something like this as an indie___.and the benefits
It wasn't
difficult at all once we knew what we wanted. The benefits is the fact that
it's yours, you own it & there is no middle man.
How long has it been out now, How’s it going down and what tracks are getting attention.
Technically I haven't done a
full press release yet, and with that being said, the 7 songs I mentioned are
the ones getting the attention depending on where u are located dictates which
one(s) of the 7 you hear.
Is it the same one’s overseas?
Yes
What’s the reaction from overseas?
Japan & UK Loves me. (smile)
Do you know anything about the UK Scene?
Tell me about the people around you, and those on the album.
I'm
fortunate to be surrounded by positive thinking people. I have a great support
team of family & friends, I want to thank them for
believing in me and being
there.
My partners in crime Mr. Don
Manor(Guitarist/Producer) & Kool Ken (Rapper/Writer) who are both featured
on
this album along with one of
the baddest saxaphonist around Mr. "Sleepy Anderson". I love you guys
and I
could not have done it without
you.
And do you use the same ones live?
Sometime
Tell me about your show.
When I perform I try to give
people something they can feel. I strive to make my live shows better than the
Album. I try to create
an atmosphere of closeness,
with a sultry, neo soul sound
This is the first album right?
Correct
What else have you done?
I've been
a part of female groups. I was a part of a Group called Sista Sista, headed by
Gaylord Parsons & James Duffy who were
members of the group called
Cashflow. I've done backgrounds for Keisha Jackson (Millie Jackson's Daughter)
by way of Atlanta, GA where I resided for 7 years, I've spent time in the
gospel arena with some of the
Gospel Greats. I've done a host of things for other people projects, as well as
compete in the Apollo Talent contest. Besides that I'm a College Honor Grad,
I'm a Real Estate Broker and Entrepreneur.
Who did you grow up listening to, and who are your influences from then and now.
I grew up
listening to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Teena Marie, Jeffrey Osbourne,
Earth Wind & Fire, The Gap Band, The Temptations, The Stylistics, The
O'jays, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, BeBe &
CeCe Winans, Anita Baker, Donnie Hathaway, Denise Williams.... The list goes on
& on. They are still some of my biggest influences today
Tell me about yourselves, your background, your upbringing, Your from North Carolina _
what happens there?
I'm a College Graduate, I'm a
Real Estate Broker and Entrepreneur. I'm from Southern Pines, North Carolina,
I come from a close net family,
I was surrounded by love & wisdom. I was brought up during the time when
the whole community raised the
kids. (smile) When you did something wrong the neighbor would whip your butt,
then you go home and get
another but whipping. (lol)
Southern Pines is 3 miles from
Pinehurst, NC Golf capital of the world. Where the 2005 U.S. Open will be
held and we are known for
raising/training horses.
