The Best of Lakeside

Repakaged again from a couple of years ago, tracks ranging from late 70’s to mid 80’s, from the solar label.  Although integral to the Solar sound they were harder and funkier than the ‘top’ artists of the label.  Consequently they appeal more to me and the tracks whilst stillretaining a touch of thet ‘disco’ feel stand the test of time a bit better.

Particularly like the ballad Given in to love though for pure disco funk entertainment It’s all the way live still cuts it. By the time of 1980 probably the best album Fantastic Voyage came out pulling in all the influences that were around at the time, a slice of EWF and mor ethan a slab of P Funk.  Say Yes though is a superb ballad.

Good stuff.
