As a documentary this is very good story of the life and times of
Mary J complete with interviews and photographs, recollections and tales, and
information.
Mary J is a true current day giant on the music scene crossing all
the soul/R’nB/ Hip Hop boundaries.
What unfortunatley is missing amongst all the visuals is music but
unfortunately that is what you get with ‘unauthorised’ biogs. Indeed on some of
the videos the music is taken right out. There are several interviews or part interviews nonetheless.
If you caught this on TV then you would consider it an hour of
good entertainment but on DVD it falls a little short without a video or two.
So probably for die hards and researchers only.
