I wasn’t sure what I was going to say about this one as I ‘ve been critical of some of thesecompilations for a bunch of different reasons, many of which I thought was going to apply here. However, there are some tracks that I don’t like, but all told ithangs together surprisingly well.

Why I’m not sure, quality of songs has a lot to do with it, but also it contains the top end of,what I would call, Jamaican Soul Singers – kicking off with my two favourites Derrick Harriott and cornell Campbell but including such luminaries as John Holt, Jackie Edwards, Pat Kelly, Techniques, Delroy Wilson, Slim Smith, Ken Parker, bob Andy, Alton Ellis.
