Scientist: Dub From The Ghetto (RZACD014)

Rock solid dubwise album from one of the best known artists. Some great variations of themes such as Dub of the Traveller, includes all the wizardry and origination of a pioneer of the genre.

Scientists doesn’t go overboard, he retains the feel of the track but just accentuates it, hardens it, and whilst there is gimickry the tracks never get lost in it.  Personally I think the Buny Lee tracks are the best on show but aside from these there are Jah Thomas and Linval thompson and self productions.

If Dub is your thing it doesn’t get much better than this

Scientist: Dub From The Ghetto (RZACD014)

Format: CD album
Released: Jan 16 2006
Price: £9.99

Perhaps the best known dub whizz in Jamaica, Scientist was only 18 when employed by King Tubby in 1978. Brimming with adolescent bravado, Scientist took an extended apprenticeship in dub experimentation under Tubby's guidance. Not a bad teacher to have had and Scientist never looked back! 30 years and over 15 albums later he continues to produce and play live. This release brings together his best recordings for Ras Records.
