The Wants List Volume 2 Oh dear, I’m starting to get a bit worried about the quality of reissue albums, and this isn’t the first time I’ve expressed some reservations. OK from a diggin the crates or getting things heard I’m all for it. Volume 1 was excellent but I think this onee falls a bit short and I would normally rave about these kind of abums That said there is some quality, and it is top stuff, the likes of Barbara Mason’s World in a crisis, and the oh so mellow crossover tones of Sly Slick and Wicked. GC Cameron doesn’t get a lot wrong in Soul Cicles at least and this is no exception. Four Flights is big, justifiably so, on the discerning crossover scene. Kellee Patterson I quite like. Lou Rawls I dunno, its Ok, sounds cleaned up, backs a bit of punch, but when all said and done is pretty standard fare. 3 heavyweight tracks run together Isaac Hayes, garland Green and Leon haywood, all three wonderful tracks in their own way but none more so than leon haywood. Edna Wright has some fine vocals but is lost amongst a horrible backdrop of 6o’s style MOR harmonies. The Vibrations funky crossover All I want is you is overrated. Samuel Jonathon Johnson despt ebeing moody goes nowhere for me with its irritating sound effects, Michelle Wiley is just moderately amusing, Jeannie reynolds is not even that. Alton Mcclain and Destiny builds quite nicely without really going anywhere. Lou Rawls I dunno, its Ok, sounds cleaned up, backs a bit of punch, but when all said and done is pretty standard fare. Ruth Copeland lacks Soul content. Cloe Martin also contains some horrible percussive brush noises, sometimes best not to remaster these tracks sometimes! And the usually excellent denise Lasalle seems out of place.

18 In Demand rare groove
tracks many on CD for the first time, covering mainly 2 step and modern soul.
Every track is a highlight. It includes Vibrations 'Shake It Up', Sly Slick And
Wicked 'Sho-nuff', Four Flights 'All I Want Is you', GC Cameron 'Live For
Love', Jeannie Reynolds 'Unwanted Company', Cloe Martin 'It Has Come To My
Attention', Michelle Wiley 'I Feel So At Home Here', Kellee Patterson 'Im Gonna
Love You a little More' and Barbara Mason's killer Philly track 'World In A
Crisis'. ESSENTIAL.
