WAYNE WONDER: Inna Bashment Style (TJACD276)

The laubchpad era of the now very popular Wayne Wonder, 21 tracks from 1988 to 1992.  Even back then there is a commercial quality, an ease of performance that shines through.

Kicking off with a version of Whitneys Broken   hearts , into Dancehall as Come Mi darling.  Don’t lose your way on the Punaany riddim takes over.  One more cahance an album title track over a kind of dub is just pure commercial..  gimme that Love is strong, It’s over now with a bit of (rather poor) rap and ragga was the first hit..  the Ruler enlists the help of Buju banton.

All told it is pretty samey, but th ebest tracks are excellent and it is easy to see that there is crossover appeal.
